FEATHERSHADE Launches the Ultimate Compact Beach Shade for Travel

FEATHERSHADE, a new venture born from a passion for travel and outdoor comfort, announces the launch of its first product: the world’s most compact and travel-friendly beach shade.

Designed for modern, smart travelers, the shade weighs just 588 grams, lighter than many Apple iPads, and packs down to less volume than a 1.25-liter water bottle. At only 480 millimeters in length, it travels inside standard carry-on luggage for free.

“We created FEATHERSHADE because we were frustrated by the lack of lightweight, high-performance beach shades,” says Thomas Janson, Managing Director of eQuisto GmbH. “There is fantastic gear for hiking, but when it comes to the beach, most products are bulky, heavy, and impractical. We knew there had to be a better way.”

Built for maximum portability without compromising comfort, FEATHERSHADE provides 190 centimeters of full-body shade for up to three adults, while remaining exceptionally easy to carry.

Whether navigating a holiday destination on two wheels, catching a crowded train, bus, or ferry, or walking long distances to a remote beach, FEATHERSHADE makes moving around effortless.

Tested in storm conditions with gusts exceeding 55 km/h and approved for 40 km/h, FEATHERSHADE delivers twice the wind resistance of traditional beach umbrellas and tents, based on benchmark approvals used by leading European outdoor gear brands.

All of this is achieved with a setup time of just 60 seconds, ensuring that exceptional portability and performance never come at the cost of a complex or time-consuming installation.

FEATHERSHADE not only helps travelers, but also protects the planet by eliminating the common and frustrating need to purchase low-quality, single-use beach shades with questionable UV protection.

It is now available via the brand’s official website at feathershade.com and through a growing network of carefully selected online and brick-and-mortar retailers.

Delivery times

Ground shipping is included in the price, delivery times are usually 2 to 7 business days, depending on how far the delivery address is located from Germany. E.g. Belgium could be three days, while southern Portugal might take a good week.

Is FEATHERSHADE cabin luggage approved?

Yes.

Israel’s El-Al is considered the toughest commercial airline in the world regarding carry-on restriction and does not exclude tent poles either.

Is FEATHERSHADE intended as rain protection?

No.

This product is intended for sunny beach days. But even so FEATHERSHADE is optimized for pack weight and size with a focus on sun protection, it still offers light rain protection.

However, during a prolonged rain shower, water collects in the center of the sail, rendering it unusable and eventually overloading the poles. But some raindrops falling from the sky will no make you run for shelter. Just be sure no water collects on the sail.

Is FEATHERSHADE intended as wind protection?

No.

Even so FEATHERSHADE is wind save to up to 40 km/h, it is not intended as wind protection.

Can I buy replacement parts for FEATHERSHADE?

Yes.

We can supply you with individual replacement poles and sails at no premium. Or in other words, ordering all the pats needed for a a complete FEATHERSHADE individually will not cost you more than ordering a complete unit. This is important, as in many industries, such as automotive, parts cost proportionally more.

We also add hooks and balls as spare parts to each order for free.

How long is the warranty period?

We adhere to the official 2-year EU warranty.

How long is the return period if I don’t like FEATHERSHADE?

60 days from the receipt of the goods to the return shipping “sent” date.

In what condition can I return FEATHERSHADE for a refund?

Please return it in the state in which you received it to receive a refund.
